Rule 3.01 Prompt Attendance and Informing Court of Presence of Expert Witness

Everyone who needs to be in court, whether it's a party, witness, or attorney, has to show up on time. Courts run on tight schedules, and being late can slow things down for everyone else waiting for their case to be heard.

There's also a specific rule for expert witnesses. If a lawyer or party brings in an expert witness to testify, they need to let the judge know that person has arrived as soon as they show up. This helps the court keep track of who's present and manage the schedule so the expert isn't left waiting around longer than necessary.
