Rule 7.01 Membership

Every lawyer who joins the legal profession in Missouri under Rule 6.01 automatically becomes part of a group called "The Missouri Bar." This includes lawyers who have already enrolled and anyone who enrolls in the future.

Think of it like an official club that all licensed Missouri lawyers belong to. You don't apply separately to join the Missouri Bar itself. Simply completing the enrollment process under Rule 6.01 makes you a member.

For regular people, this rule mostly explains how the legal profession organizes itself in Missouri. It doesn't create duties or rights for someone involved in a lawsuit. It just confirms that all enrolled lawyers, past and future, are part of this one statewide group.
