Rule 30.13 Appeal - Dismissal in Appellate Court

If you filed an appeal in a criminal case, you have the right to change your mind and drop it. You can do this by filing a dismissal with the appellate court. The only limit is timing: you must file the dismissal before the court hears or takes up your case for a final decision.

Once the appellate court has submitted the case for a ruling, you lose the chance to dismiss it on your own. So if you are thinking about ending your appeal, you need to act before that submission stage happens. This gives you some control over your case, but only up to a certain point in the process.
