Rule 30.29 Remand - New Trial

When an appeals court sends a criminal case back to the lower court for a new trial, the lower court just picks up the case and handles it normally. It doesn't matter that the case went up to the appeals court first. The trial court treats the case the same way it would if it had never been appealed at all.

In practical terms, this means there's no special or different process required just because a case went through an appeal. Once the appeals court orders a new trial, the original court runs that new trial using the regular rules and procedures, exactly as it would for any other case starting from scratch.
