Rule 125.02 Style and Content of Petition

When someone files a petition to end a parent's legal rights to a child, the paperwork has to follow a specific format. The petition must be labeled and organized the way Rule 113.01a says it should be.

The content of the petition also has to match what state law requires under section 211.452. This means the person filing it can't just write whatever they want. They need to include the specific information and follow the structure that the law spells out, so the court and everyone involved gets a clear, consistent document to work with.
