Rule 4 Mandatory Filing

If you're a licensed Nevada attorney, or an out-of-state attorney allowed to practice in Nevada for a specific case, you're required to file all your court documents electronically. This isn't optional. The same rule applies to certain other parties who are required to register under related court rules.

If you're representing yourself in court without a lawyer, you don't have to file electronically. It's your choice. But here's the catch: once you decide to start filing electronically and use the electronic filing system to serve documents, you can't switch back to paper filing later. You're locked into electronic filing for the rest of your case, unless a judge specifically orders otherwise.

This means self-represented people should think carefully before choosing electronic filing. It might be convenient at first, but you're committing to using that system all the way through your case, even if it becomes difficult or inconvenient later on.
