Both sides in a case have the right to bring witnesses to speak on their behalf at the hearing. This applies to the plaintiff (the person who filed the case) and the defendant (the person being sued). They can call witnesses to testify just like they would in any other case heard in justice court.
This means neither side is limited or treated differently when it comes to presenting witness testimony. The same rules and procedures that apply to witnesses in regular justice court cases also apply here. Both parties get a fair chance to support their side of the story through people who can speak to the facts of the case.
