Rule 100 Disciplinary districts

Nevada splits attorney discipline cases into two regions: a southern district and a northern district. This split decides which office and panel handle a complaint against a lawyer, based on where the case falls geographically.

The southern district covers Clark, Esmeralda, Lincoln, Nye, and White Pine counties. This includes Las Vegas and the surrounding area.

The northern district covers Carson City, Churchill, Douglas, Elko, Eureka, Humboldt, Lander, Lyon, Mineral, Pershing, Storey, and Washoe counties. This includes Reno, Carson City, and the northern part of the state.

If you file a complaint against a lawyer, or if you're involved in a disciplinary case, this rule determines which district handles the matter. It's mainly an administrative rule that organizes how the state manages attorney discipline based on location.
