Rule 245 Notice

If a judge knows that news reporters will be covering a court proceeding, the judge has to give a heads up. The judge must tell the attorneys and any parties involved in the case, and also let the pool coordinator (or whoever is filling in for them) know about it. The judge should also point out these media coverage rules so everyone understands them.

Attorneys have their own job to do too. Once they know about the media coverage, they need to pass that information along to their witnesses. This way, nobody who steps into the courtroom is caught off guard by cameras or reporters being there.
