Rule 2:12A-2 Power to Reformulate Question

When the Supreme Court agrees to answer a legal question sent to it by another court, it does not have to answer that exact question. The court can reword or reframe the question in whatever way it thinks best fits the legal issue.

This means the court has full control over how it addresses the problem, even if the original question was written differently. The answer the court gives will still deal with the same basic legal issue, just possibly from a different angle.
