Rule 4:105-6 Length of Papers

When you file papers in a civil case, there are limits on how long they can be.

Legal briefs and memoranda (written arguments about the law) must follow the page limits set in Rule 1:6-5. Affidavits and certifications, which are sworn written statements, cannot be longer than 25 pages, not counting any attached exhibits.

A judge can give you permission to go over these limits if needed, but you cannot simply file longer documents on your own.
