Rule 4:39-3 Omissions in Verdict in Action to Recover Personal Property

When someone goes to court to get back personal property that was wrongfully taken or kept from them, the jury may not rule on every single item listed in the case. If that happens, the verdict still counts and is not thrown out.

However, there is a consequence for the plaintiff (the person trying to get their property back). Any items the jury left out of the verdict are considered lost. The plaintiff gives up their right to those items and cannot try to claim them again later.
