Rule 4:52-2 Temporary Restraint and Interlocutory Injunction-During Pendency of Action

If you are in the middle of a lawsuit, you can ask the court to put a temporary stop to something while the case is still going on. This is called a temporary restraint or an interlocutory injunction.

To ask for this, you can file a motion or an order to show cause. The rules for filing an order to show cause follow the same steps laid out in Rule 4:52-1, as long as those steps apply to your situation.
