Rule 4:52-5 Denial of Application

If a judge decides not to grant a temporary restraining order or a preliminary injunction, the judge must write a note about that denial directly on the complaint or affidavit that was submitted. That document then gets filed with the court.

This keeps a clear record of what was requested and what the judge decided. It also means the court has the denial on file as part of the official case documents.
