N.J.R.E. 605 Restriction on Judge as a Witness
Article VI: Witnesses
Rule Text
The judge presiding at the trial may not testify as a witness in that trial. A party need not object to preserve the issue.
Amendment history: Adopted September 15, 1992 to be effective July 1, 1993; amended September 16, 2019 to be effective July 1, 2020.
