Rule 5:21A Juvenile Plea Form

When a young person wants to plead guilty in juvenile court, they must fill out and sign a special form before the judge accepts the plea. The form is created by the Administrative Director of the Courts, and the young person only needs to complete the parts that apply to their situation.

After signing, the form gets sent to the Family Division Manager for filing. The plea also has to meet the same basic requirements as adult guilty pleas under Rule 3:9-2, which means the judge must make sure the young person understands what they are agreeing to before accepting it.
