Rule 1:3-2 Time Unaffected by Expiration of Term

Courts used to operate in set periods called "terms," and when a term ended, it could affect deadlines or pending matters. This rule says that is no longer the case in New Jersey.

If you have a deadline to file something or take action in your case, that deadline stays the same no matter when the court's term begins or ends. The calendar of court terms has no effect on your time limits.
