Rule 6:4-2 Pretrial Conference

A judge can choose to hold a pretrial conference in a Special Civil Part case. This can happen because the judge decides to do it, or because one of the parties asks for it.

A pretrial conference is a meeting where the judge and the parties talk about the case before the trial. It can help sort out issues and get everyone on the same page before going to court.
