Rule 6:9 Procedure for Collection of Statutory Penalties and for Confiscation of Chattels

The Special Civil Part follows the same procedures as other New Jersey courts when it comes to collecting fines set by law and taking certain property. These procedures are spelled out in Rule 4:70, and they apply fully here.

If you are involved in a case about a legal penalty or the government taking personal property, the same basic steps and protections that apply in other courts will apply in the Special Civil Part as well.
