Rule 8:13 Pilot County as Taxing District

In some New Jersey counties, property taxes are assessed differently under a special law called the Property Tax Assessment Reform Act. If your property is in one of these counties, the entire county is treated as one taxing district when dealing with Tax Court cases.

This matters because it changes how your case is organized and filed. Instead of your town or municipality being the taxing district, the whole county takes on that role for the purpose of your appeal.
