Rule 8:8-2 Assignment for Hearing

When your tax case is ready for a hearing, a judge called the Presiding Judge decides when and where it will be heard. This judge tries to pick a time and place that works for the people involved in the case.

If your case involves a specific property, the judge will also try to schedule the hearing in a location that makes sense given where that property is located. This helps avoid making people travel far from home or from the property being disputed.
