§ 202.8-d Orders to Show Cause

Courts do not want people using orders to show cause just to speed things up or skip steps. If your situation is not truly urgent, you should file a standard motion instead.

Also, keep in mind that reply papers are not allowed with these filings unless the court gives you permission first. If you plan to submit a reply, you need to ask the court in advance. Otherwise, your reply may not be accepted or considered.
