§ 1218 Appeal; bond

When a public administrator handles someone's estate, they have the right to appeal any court decision that affects that estate or involves them as a party. This means if a judge makes a ruling the public administrator disagrees with, they can take the case to a higher court to challenge it.

Normally, when someone appeals a court decision, they may need to post a bond (a sum of money) to pause the enforcement of that decision while the appeal is being decided. This rule removes that requirement for public administrators. They can appeal and automatically stop the decision from taking effect, without having to pay any money upfront to do so.

This makes it easier for public administrators to challenge court decisions on behalf of the estates they manage, since they won't face a financial barrier to filing an appeal.
