§ 1916 Provision for payment of undetermined claims and debts not yet due

When a court makes its final decision on an estate, some debts or claims might not be settled yet. Maybe someone is still disputing how much they're owed, or a debt isn't due to be paid until later. If this happens, the court won't ignore those unresolved claims.

Instead, the court will order the estate's executor or administrator to set aside enough money to cover those claims. This money stays separate until the claim gets sorted out or the debt comes due. The person in charge of the estate can't spend or distribute this set-aside money until then.

Once the claim is finally decided or the debt is paid, there might be money left over from what was set aside. If that happens, the court's order will also explain how to distribute that extra money to the people who are supposed to receive it. This way, everyone who has a stake in the estate gets treated fairly, even when some issues take longer to resolve than others.
