§ 212 Service of process

Court papers in a Surrogate's Court case can be delivered anywhere in New York State. If the law allows it, these papers can also be delivered to someone outside the state.

This means that if you're involved in a case, like one dealing with a will or an estate, you can't avoid being served just because you live in a different county or even outside New York. As long as the delivery follows the legal rules for that situation, it counts as valid service no matter where the person receiving it is located.
