§ 2227 Summary statement

When a court approves an executor's or administrator's financial account for an estate, the final court order must include a summary of that account. This summary lists the money and property that came in, what was paid out, and what's left. The court can either put this summary directly in the order itself or point to a separate summary document, but either way it has to be officially recorded.

This matters because it creates a clear, permanent record of how the estate's money was handled. Anyone who needs to check on the estate later, like a beneficiary or family member, can look at this recorded summary to see exactly what happened with the funds. It also protects the executor or administrator by showing the court reviewed and approved their handling of the money.
