§ 305 Process, where returnable

When a surrogate's court sends out a legal notice or summons, that notice has to bring people back to the same court that issued it. In other words, if you get served with paperwork from a surrogate's court, you need to show up or respond to that same court, not some other court.

This rule keeps things simple and consistent. It makes sure cases stay in the court where they started, unless another law specifically says otherwise. For people involved in a case, this means you always know where you need to go to handle the matter. You don't have to guess which court has authority over your case or worry about being redirected somewhere else.
