§ 207.10 Demand for pleadings

If someone is legally entitled to receive a copy of a pleading (a legal document filed in a court case), and they ask for it, the other side must send it to them within five days. This applies to cases in Surrogate's Court, which handles matters like wills and estates.

The only exception is if the Surrogate (the judge in this court) has ordered something different. Otherwise, the five-day deadline applies automatically once a proper request is made. This rule helps keep cases moving by making sure people get the documents they're owed without long delays.
