Rule 14 Withdrawal of Application

If you apply to be admitted to practice law in North Dakota, you need to finish the application process within 24 months of filing it. If you don't complete everything within that time, your application will be treated as withdrawn.

The only way around this is to show "good cause," which means giving the court a solid reason why you couldn't finish in time. If you can't show good cause, you'll need to start the application process over if you still want to be admitted.

This rule exists to keep applications moving and prevent them from sitting unfinished for years. If you're in the middle of applying, it's a good idea to keep track of your filing date and make sure you're completing each step without long delays.
