Rule 55 Records

The clerk of the court has to keep official records for every criminal case. The Presiding Judge decides exactly how these records should be kept and organized.

Whenever the court makes an order or issues a judgment, the clerk must write it down in the records. Each entry also needs to show the date it was recorded. This creates a clear paper trail so anyone looking at the case file can see what happened and when.
