Rule 42 Title

This rule simply gives the set of court rules its official name. The rules that govern how appeals work in Ohio are called the "Ohio Rules of Appellate Procedure."

When lawyers or judges refer to a specific rule, they can shorten the name to "Appellate Rules" or "App.R." followed by the rule number. For example, they might write "App.R. 42" instead of spelling out the full name every time.
