Rule 66 Receivers

When a court appoints a receiver to manage someone's property or business during a lawsuit, that case cannot simply be dropped or walked away from. A judge must officially approve any dismissal.

A receiver is a neutral person the court puts in charge of managing money, property, or a business while a legal dispute is sorted out. The way the receiver does their job is controlled by Ohio law and court rules.
