Sec 9.2 Notice to Other Jurisdictions

When a lawyer gets disciplined, the General Counsel has to spread the word to other courts and organizations where that lawyer is allowed to practice law. This means sending official notice to all federal courts in Oklahoma, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, the American Bar Association, and groups that track lawyer discipline nationwide, like the National Conference of Bar Examiners and the National Discipline Data Bank.

The notice also has to go to any other state or federal court, or any government agency, where the lawyer has permission to practice. This way, if a lawyer is licensed in multiple places or handles cases before different courts and agencies, all of them find out about the discipline. This helps make sure a lawyer's disciplinary record follows them, no matter where else they are allowed to work.
