The president of the Oklahoma Bar Association runs all official meetings. If the president can't attend or chooses not to lead a meeting, the vice-president steps in to preside instead.

Beyond running meetings, the president takes on any extra jobs assigned by the House of Delegates or the Board of Governors. The president also has the power to appoint people to committees, both the standing committees that exist year-round and any special committees created for specific purposes. If a spot on a committee opens up, the president fills that vacancy too.

Finally, the president automatically holds a seat on the Board of Governors. This means the president isn't just running meetings from the outside, but actively participates as a voting member of the board that helps govern the bar association.
