Art V Sec 4 Ineligibility

If you just finished serving as President of the Oklahoma Bar Association, you can't immediately turn around and run for President-Elect representing your home area. You have to sit out the next election for that position in your area.

This rule exists to prevent one person from holding the top leadership role over and over without a break. It gives other qualified lawyers in that area a fair chance to step into the President-Elect role once the previous President's term ends. After that next election cycle passes, the former President would presumably be eligible again if the bylaws don't say otherwise.
