This summary is not the rule. The rule text controls.
To start an eviction case in Oklahoma, the landlord must file an affidavit with the court clerk. This applies whether the landlord is just trying to remove a tenant or also wants to collect unpaid rent or money for damage to the property.
The affidavit itself is a standard form. The Oklahoma Bar Association creates this form and writes it in plain language so regular people can understand it. You do not need a lawyer to figure out complicated legal wording to fill it out.
You can find this form online. The Administrative Office of the Courts makes sure it's available on the Oklahoma State Courts Network website, known as OSCN. This means anyone starting an eviction case can access the correct form without having to visit a courthouse in person.
