§ 1157 Order of execution.

When a defendant has more than one attachment order against them, the sheriff must handle them in the order they arrive. Whichever order gets to the sheriff's office first gets carried out first.

This matters if you're one of several creditors trying to collect from the same person or business. If you file your attachment order quickly, you get first access to the defendant's property. If you wait, and other creditors submit their orders before you, they get their claims processed ahead of yours. In situations where the defendant doesn't have enough property or assets to cover all the debts, being first in line can make a real difference in whether you actually collect what you're owed.
