§ 1231 Bond - Execution in vacation.

If you need to post a bond related to an attachment order, you don't have to wait until court is in session to do it. You can sign the bond in front of the sheriff if that person still has the attachment order, or in front of the court clerk if the order has already been returned to the court. Either way works just as well as signing it in front of a judge.

The person who witnesses you signing the bond, whether it's the sheriff or the clerk, also has to approve the sureties. Sureties are the people or companies backing up the bond, promising to pay if something goes wrong. So this rule basically gives you flexibility on timing and location, while still making sure someone official checks that your backers are good for it.
