§ 1242 Affidavits and evidence in opposition to motion.

If a defendant asks the court to dismiss or challenge an attachment order using sworn statements (affidavits) or other evidence, the plaintiff gets a chance to fight back. The plaintiff can present their own affidavits or evidence to support the original attachment order, beyond what was already submitted when the order was first granted.

In simple terms, this rule makes sure both sides get a fair shot. If the defendant brings new evidence to try to undo the attachment, the plaintiff isn't stuck relying only on what they first submitted to the court. They can bring additional proof to defend their position and keep the attachment in place.

However, this only applies when the defendant's challenge is actually based on affidavits or other evidence. If the defendant argues the motion on some other basis, this specific rule about presenting counter-evidence does not apply.
