§ 1877 Enforcement of agreement to arbitrate.

If you and someone else agreed in writing to settle a dispute through arbitration instead of a lawsuit, a court can step in and make sure that agreement is followed. This means if one side tries to back out or ignore the arbitration agreement, the other side can ask a judge to enforce it, as long as the court has authority over the people involved and the type of dispute.

The rule also covers what happens after arbitration is finished. If your agreement says the arbitration will happen in Oklahoma, then only Oklahoma courts have the power to officially approve and enter judgment on the arbitrator's decision. You cannot take that award to a court in another state to get it finalized. This keeps the process consistent and makes sure the state where the arbitration took place is the one that handles the final legal steps.
