§ 2605 Competency of judge as witness.

The judge running your trial cannot also be a witness in that same trial. This keeps things fair, since the judge is supposed to be a neutral referee, not someone giving testimony about what happened.

If this rule is broken, the lawyer does not need to speak up in court or object at the time. The mistake is automatically considered a legal error, so it can still be raised later, such as on appeal, even if no one objected during the trial itself.
