A witness can give an opinion that touches on the exact question the judge or jury needs to decide, and that opinion is still allowed in court. Lawyers can't block this kind of testimony just because it deals with the main issue in the case.

For example, in a case about whether someone was negligent, an expert witness could say they believe a person acted carelessly. This kind of statement used to be blocked in some courts because it seemed to take over the jury's job. Under this rule, that's no longer a valid reason to keep the testimony out, as long as it meets the other rules for expert or opinion evidence.

This means witnesses, especially experts, have more freedom to share their views clearly and directly. The judge or jury still decides what to believe and how much weight to give that opinion. The rule just removes one specific reason for keeping helpful testimony from being heard.
