§ 3313 Standards of professional responsibility and mandatory reporting not affected.

This rule makes clear that the new law does not change any other rules that already apply to lawyers and other licensed professionals. Lawyers, doctors, counselors, and similar professionals still have to follow the same ethical and professional standards they always have. This law does not replace or lower those existing duties.

The rule also keeps mandatory reporting laws fully in place. If someone is legally required to report abuse, neglect, abandonment, or exploitation of a child or adult, that duty stays exactly the same. This law does not create any exception that would let a person skip reporting these situations to the proper authorities.
