§ 718.11 Saving clause.

This law makes clear that courts still have other ways to recognize foreign court judgments, even if a specific judgment doesn't fall under the Uniform Foreign-Country Money Judgments Recognition Act. The Act covers certain types of foreign money judgments, but it doesn't take away a court's ability to recognize other foreign judgments through different legal principles, like comity.

Comity is basically the idea that courts can choose to respect and honor decisions made by courts in other countries out of mutual respect between legal systems. So if a foreign judgment doesn't meet the specific requirements to fall under this Act, a person can still ask a court to recognize it using these other traditional legal principles instead.

In short, this rule is a safety net. It ensures that the Act's rules for recognizing foreign judgments don't replace or block other legal paths that already existed for getting a foreign judgment recognized in Oklahoma.
