If you want an Oklahoma court to recognize and enforce a judgment from another country, you need to act within a certain time limit. You have to start your case before two things happen: either the judgment stops being valid in the country where it was issued, or 15 years pass since the judgment became effective there, whichever comes first.
This means you can't wait too long to bring your foreign judgment to an Oklahoma court. If the judgment expires under the other country's laws before 15 years pass, that shorter time limit applies. But even if the judgment stays valid longer than 15 years in its home country, Oklahoma still cuts off your ability to file after 15 years.
In short, keep track of both time limits and file as soon as you can. Waiting too long could mean losing your chance to have the judgment enforced in Oklahoma, even if it's still good in the country where it was originally issued.
