ROP 8 Guidelines for Award of Fees for Services of Prosecutors

When a prosecutor works on a case before the Court on the Judiciary, this rule explains how they get paid back for their expenses and fees. It sets clear guidelines so the payment process is fair and consistent.

If the prosecutor drives somewhere for the case, they get paid back for mileage at the standard state rate. Any other expenses, like hotel stays or other costs, have to be listed separately on their expense report. Before the prosecutor spends money on these extra expenses, they need to get approval from the Presiding Judge who oversees the Trial Division.

Finally, the rule asks the Administrative Director of the Courts to create a standard form that everyone uses to request payment for expenses. This way, whether the case is being heard by the Trial Division or the Appellate Division, there's one consistent way to submit these claims. This helps keep the payment process organized and easy to follow for everyone involved.
