§ 1088 Short title.

This law is called the "Post-Conviction Procedure Act." It sets out the process someone can use after they've already been convicted of a crime to challenge that conviction or their sentence.

This isn't about a regular appeal right after a trial. Instead, it's a separate legal process people can use later if they believe something went seriously wrong with their case, such as a violation of their constitutional rights. The name of the law just tells you what the rest of the rules in this section are about, and it sets the stage for how these later challenges to a conviction work.
