§ 1141.27 Trial for other offenses than that specified.

If someone is brought back to Oklahoma to face a criminal charge, prosecutors are not limited to just that one charge. Once the person is back in the state, either through the extradition process or because they gave up their right to fight extradition, they can also be tried for other crimes they are accused of committing in Oklahoma.

This means a person cannot assume they are protected from facing additional charges just because those charges were not listed in the original extradition paperwork. The state can pursue any other criminal charges connected to that person, as long as those charges are for offenses committed in Oklahoma.

In short, coming back to the state to answer for one crime opens the door for prosecutors to address other charges against that same person too.
