§ 1227 Service of search warrant.

This rule explains who can carry out a search warrant. Only the officers named in the warrant are allowed to serve it and search the property. Other people cannot serve the warrant on their own.

However, someone else can help the officer during the search. This is only allowed if the officer asks for help, is present at the scene, and is actively directing the search. In short, the warrant belongs to the named officers, and anyone else can only assist them when the officer is there in charge.
