A warrant covering a crime (other than a city ordinance violation) can be served anywhere in Oklahoma, not just in the county where it was issued. This means someone cannot avoid arrest simply by crossing into a different county.

Any peace officer who receives the warrant can serve it, as long as it was properly directed or given to them. The officer does not need to be from the same county where the warrant was originally issued.

For most people, this rule matters because it closes a loophole. Law enforcement can act on a valid warrant across county lines, and local officers in that area are allowed to carry it out.
